Please help us raise money for Gehan's Ironman Triathalon!!
Gehan is a Paediatric dental consultant at Great Ormond Street Hospital and a lecturer at the Eastman Dental Hospital. She is also part of the cleft team at GOSH and has a special interest in managing children with clefts. Through her passion for sport she is aiming to fundraise for CLEFT to support the cleft centres in Sohag, Egypt, which she plans to visit with Brian Sommerlad and other GOSH cleft team members, and Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Gehan has competed for many years in both 100 and 200 meters on the track at a national level. She moved to combining this discipline with cycling and swimming and completed her first olympic distance Triathlon in 2013. She enjoyed the experience so much that she was soon looking for the next challenge. This came in the form of an Ironman triathlon event designed to test the extremes of endurance in all three disciplines. In preparation for this event Gehan has participated in a number charity cycle rides, charity runs and smaller triathlons to get her up to speed for the big event.
The big challenge on the horizon is a full Ironman triathlon taking place in Mexico in November of 2016. This will require completing a 4 km swim followed by a 180 km bike ride and a 42 km run to finish off.
She is hoping to raise enough money to support her upcoming missions to Egypt and Bangladesh.
Any donation would be much appreciated to support this extremely worthy cause!
