Our team of 25 runners became 20 on the day due to various injuries picked up along the way but nonetheless managed managed to raise £4850 (not including Gift Aid). In spite of the threat of rain, it stayed dry until nearly all the runners made it across the finishing line. There was such a good atmosphere with lots of people cheering and shouting encouragement.

The Royal Parks Half Marathon takes runners through central London and is a great course to run. Sarah and Amy enjoyed the experience (pictured above) for the second time, doing an incredible job fundraising for CLEFT and making it round in the good time of 2 hours 39 minutes.

After six years of running it on his own Dayalan (pictured above) ran it this year with his fiance and made it round in a respectable 2 hours 30 minutes before treating themselves to a pub lunch afterwards. Read A Runner's Tale to learn of Dayalan's journey and how he overcome serious injury to be able to run this race year after year for CLEFT.

We also had David's team running for the first time for CLEFT (Shane, Dan, Gary and David pictured above left, Shane also pictured on right hand side), making it round in a very impressive 1 hour 48 minutes.

Normally behind the camera, this year our own film-maker, Paul, is pictured left in front of it, wearing his yellow CLEFT t-shirt. Not only was this Paul's first challenge event for CLEFT but it was his first ever half marathon. He made it round in 1 hour 50 minutes - he sprinted the last 400m with another CLEFT runner who came up alongside him. Paul says he can't wait to do it again!

To all our runners, thank you for taking part, for being great sports and for raising much needed funds.

If you would like to take part in the 2020 race, please register your interest with the CLEFT office so that you can be contacted when the places become available in December.
