This year, Maryann and I are celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary - an occasion that fills us with gratitude, reflection, and joy.

Over the years, we’ve been fortunate to share a life full of love, family, and purpose. As part of our celebration, we’ve decided that rather than receiving any gifts, we’d love to use this milestone to make a difference in the lives of others, specifically, children born with cleft lip and palate.

As many of you know, I’m a trustee of CLEFT, a charity that is doing extraordinary work to provide long-term, sustainable cleft care in the UK and overseas. CLEFT supports local teams to deliver surgery, speech therapy, and ongoing treatment that these children might otherwise never receive.

Because we asked for you not to bring us any gift, some of you have asked if we are supporting a charity instead. So if you were thinking of marking our anniversary in some way, we would be grateful if you’d consider making a donation to CLEFT instead. If this is not your thing, no problem.

It would mean so much to us, and even more to the children whose lives will be changed by your generosity.
