Edition 108 CLEFT Update The new student section of CLEFT has been running for a couple of months now and is a really exciting development for us. Chaired by Mahaveer Sangha, a final year medical student at University College London, students from all around the UK are giving up their time to fundraise and raise awareness about CLEFT and the condition. The students are studying subjects involved in multi-disciplinary cleft care: medicine, speech and language therapy and dentistry and in time, we hope to expand this to all the cleft disciplines. These students are the cleft professionals of the future, and we are delighted to have them on board. In the last month, a running group has been set up in Bristol (below left), two quizzes have been held (middle picture) as well as a lecture on suturing (below right) but there is much more in the diary, including an art exhibition which will be held in Manchester in December. If you are interested in attending the art exhibition, details can be found at https://www.cleft.org.uk/Event/art-exhibition Look out for our Christmas appeal which will be launched in the next couple of weeks to raise £5000 to buy two surgical sets for the surgeons in Bangladesh. The instruments are essential for the surgeons to continue their excellent work.
