The Great Bristol Run is an action-packed day of running with a 10k and Half Marathon starting and finishing in the heart of the city. It is an amazing event to take part in due to the atmosphere, the support from the crowds, the live music and entertainment.

The Half Marathon route encounters lots of wonderful sights along the way. Past the vibrant waterfront and out along the beautiful and peaceful Avon Gorge passing under the world famous Clifton Suspension Bridge, the final section is through Old City, before the grandstand finish on Anchor Road.

One of our runners Karen had to pull out at mile 8 due to a calf injury which was a shame. Karen has been an amazing support and fundraiser to CLEFT as this was the second event to be involved in over past few weeks.

The weather was glorious on the day, perfect day for running and the crowds were extremely motivational.

Huge thanks to Freya, Camille, Liam from the Bristol University student team (pictured left), Sam, Lucy and Hannah (above) from the Bristol Speech and Language Therapy Research Unit (BSLTRU) team, and to our individual runners: Calum, Daniel, Harriet, Paul and Karen for raising a fantastic £1,573.
