Dr Debbie Sell is a Senior Research Fellow at Great Ormond Street Hospital and until 2018, was a clinical Speech and Language Therapist in the North Thames Regional Cleft Service. Debbie now focuses on mentoring, supervision, teaching and independent clinical practice and her research has been published internationally.

In this recording, Debbie explains why it is so hard to obtain funding into research into speech and language therapy but explains what the potential impact of high quality research is for patients and their parents in the UK, and in lower and middle income countries too. Debbie also shares some of her research successes - including the Speech at Home project, partially funded by CLEFT, which tapped into telehealth long before Covid forced a shift to working from home.
