Create a fundraiser page Whether you are taking part in a challenge event or something you have organised yourself, we would like to say a big thank you for your commitment and generosity. We know it is not easy to raise money and we are very grateful to all those who do such a great job fundraising. Your money will really help children such as Sara and her friends, pictured left. If you would like to set up a fundraiser page, just choose a name for your page and add a message explaining why you think this work is important and why you're supporting it. We really encourage you to personalise your page as much as possible. Here are some top tips for setting up your page: Personalise your fundraising page header. If you can, include your name in the title, eg. Paul's Half Marathon Fundraiser - this helps your supporters know they have the right page to donate to! Say why you chose to fundraise for CLEFT. This is your opportunity to share your story and what your link is with the charity/ cause. Why is it important to you? Upload a photo of yourself - not only does it make it easier for your supporters to find you but it helps connect with them too. Due to the nature of the design on the website, the most suitable photos are landscape. Close-ups do not work well unfortunately, so ensure you have some background in the photo and that your face is in the top section of the photo - see below for examples. How to Set Up a Fundraising Page For step-by-step instructions on how to set up a fundraising page here, click the yellow button above.Once you have created your fundraiser page, invite your friends, family and colleagues to get involved and support you. You can track how much money you have raised and keep people updated on your progress. All the social media platforms are brilliant for sharing on. And don't forget to tell us how you are doing - we love hearing our fundraisers' stories! We do this by visiting and working with them regularly, helping to provide education and training and donating much needed equipment. Our goal is to help local teams so that children born with clefts in these countries will have the same opportunities as those in the UK. CLEFT also supports research in the UK which will potentially benefit the much greater number of cleft lip and palate patients in countries other than the UK. Our research projects include a pilot project to develop techniques for 3-D MRI scanning of the palate, a study of the muscles of the soft palate to try to improve the quality of the surgery as well as investigating submucous cleft palate development and therapy.CLEFT is a registered charity (no. 1119630).
