  1. Support our work

Volunteer

It would be fair to say that CLEFT would not be able to function half as well as it does without its small but dedicated group of volunteers. This wonderful group of people donate more than just their time. They bring their enthusiasm, expertise, ideas, creativity and professionalism to the table and are truly committed to helping those affected by cleft lip and palate. We are always very thankful to anyone who can support us by giving some of their precious time. There are a few different ways you can get involved - even if you only have an hour a month, there’ll be a way you can help.

One of our volunteers, Tracy Morris, is a CLEFT trustee and a member of the Fundraising Committee. Tracy is an experienced fundraiser and has raised well over £6,000 in the last few years herself. She has taken part in the Kilimanjaro climb in 2019, numerous Ride London events and is currently training for the next Royal Parks Half Marathon. Not only has she taken part in all these sporting activities but she has also given talks to groups about the work of CLEFT, organised an online dog grooming event in lockdown as well as a vegan Christmas cooking event and is always on the look-out for new events to take part in. Tracy's next venture will be to organise a series of lectures throughout the autumn and winter.

We are a student society in which we are running a global plastic surgery conference. We will be running a cleft lip workshop and have a cleft lip talk by a cleft surgeon. We want to raise awareness of this subspecialty and also thought it would be a greta idea to introduce a fund-raising aspect to this event.
