We are working with Bangladeshi specialists at the new National Institute of Burns and Plastic Surgery to create a sustainable centre to treat children with cleft lip and palate. The videos below show some of the work that CLEFT does in Dhaka. 

So Far:

• We have helped set up and fund a dedicated ward and operating theatre for cleft patients.
• We have funded the appointment of the first cleft speech and language therapist and orthodontist in Bangladesh.
• We have trained Bangladeshi surgeons and other specialists in Bangladesh and in the UK

More children need to be given free surgery.

Each operation costs £40

More patients need to be given follow-up surgery and treatments. More Bangladeshi surgeons need to be trained to perform high quality surgery.

Lifetime treatment costs £250

We are currently looking at establishing more specialist cleft centre in other cities such as Khulna, Sylhet and Chittagong.
