The Vegan Christmas Menu masterclass was held online on the 4th December and was the third event in our online masterclass series Gemma demonstrated each stage of the recipes with the help of her Chef-de-Partie for the evening (and CLEFT trustee), Tracy Morris, pictured above.

Gemma answered questions from the participants and gave some useful cooking tips along the way, for example, that root vegetables that grow below the ground should be put in cold water to cook and that vegetables above the ground can go straight into boiling water. A few people cooked along with Gemma from their homes. The food looked really delicious at the end!


Gemma is a passionate vegan and committed to zero waste, often giving her time and expertise to feeding and supporting the homeless. She is currently head chef at a brand-new café and restaurant in Cambridge called 'Thrive, Plant Based'. Gemma generously donated her time, expertise and recipes for this event which raised an amazing £450.
