Will and Shonnelly, members of CLEFT’s Trainee Section, are taking part in the Dorney Duathlon (15km run and 38km cycle) on January 2024 to raise money for the charity.

As surgical trainees, we have been inspired by the profound impact that high quality cleft care has on children’s lives in the UK. However, in some low-income countries, those born with cleft lip and palate have little to no access to these crucial services. The charity CLEFT aims to improve access to sustainable cleft care worldwide by working with local surgeons and cleft specialists to develop high quality, multidisciplinary teams. The charity also funds cleft research to help further our understanding of cleft and how care provided by the wider cleft team can be improved.

We would be incredibly grateful for any and all donations to this fundraiser. In doing so, you would be helping CLEFT get one step closer to its goal of and be making a direct difference to children born with cleft across the globe. Will Raby-Smith
